Engaging with the Community

Father and ChildChildren’s Centres offer fantastic services and support. However, it can sometimes be difficult to encourage families to use them. Some parents are prevented from making use of Children’s Centre services because of barriers such as language, depression, perceptions, lack of confidence, location, unaware the services are for them etc.

Here are 50 great ideas to break down the barriers and make it easier for such families to start using your Children’s Centre

  1. Make a DVD about the Children’s Centre
  2. Produce a fact sheet for local providers explaining what a Children’s Centre is
  3. Offer taster sessions for parents
