Training Overview:


Aim

To develop a greater understanding of meetings and the skills to be an effective participant.

Overview
  • Recognizing types of meetings and their purpose
  • Understanding meeting procedures and etiquette
  • Considering the role of the chairperson - including: dealing with people, resolving problems
  • Considering the role of the secretary - including: minute taking
  • Confidently communicating at meetings
Group work will give participants the opportunity to investigate practical ways to develop confidence at meetings.
Scenarios will be used to identify problems that might arise.

Duration

2 sessions of two and a half hours each.
These can be run separately or combined into one whole day.

Training Method

Interactive training workshop for up to 12 participants.

Handouts will be provided which will summarize the basic points.

Each participant will receive a certificate and training evaluation questionnaire.
